Traction Battery Users’ Safety Instructions
- Allow trained personnel only to work on a battery.
- Use protective clothing and safety gears when working on a battery.
- Use insulated tools only to work on the battery. Do not drop tools or other metal parts on the battery.
- Ensure correct polarity while connecting to a charger and machine.
- Put discharged battery immediately on charge. Do not keep idle or discharged battery more than 8 weeks intervals. This will result in sulphation.
- Remove the battery compartment lid while charging.
- Charge a battery in a well ventilated place having exhaust fan.
- No naked light during battery charging. Do not smoke in the battery charging room.
- No flammable substance near battery during charging. Avoid flames and hot works like welding or gas cutting.
- Top up only de-ionised water after fully-charged and never on a discharged battery. Do not top up with acid.
- Keep the battery & tray clean and dry at all times.
- Check terminal connections and bolted terminals tightness periodically
- Keep the battery firmly secured to the truck to avoid vibration.
- Use petroleum jelly or anti-sulphuric grease to protect metal parts e.g. battery terminals.
- Top metal connections shall always have plastic shrouds on them.

Traction Charger Users’ Safety Instructions
- Ensure charger plugs & battery sockets are fully-engaged during charging
- To check for exposed connector plug pins or wires. Please have them replaced before use.
- Please do not charge battery near flammable objects
- Please ensure chargers are installed in a dry well-ventilated and clean area.
- Do not cover up the charger ventilation holes as this will trap heat and cause over heating.
- Charger cables must be connected to ensure a good contact and the polarity is correct.
